Job Shadowing

J. Beal

On Tuesday August 31st the Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores had a meeting in the learning center about job shadowing. We had Sue Neil and Laura Miner tell us about job shadowing and how it is a great thing to do. I know some people think it's not worth it but it really is.

Job Shadowing is a great experience. Job shadowing allows you to go to someone's everyday job and watch them do their job and learn more about that job. For example if you want to be an electrician then you can spend the day with an electrician and watch them do their work and learn more about it and determine if that's what you want to do in the future.

Laura and Sue told us how to sign up for job shadowing. All you have to do is go to the Kirkwood website and go to job shadowing and start a job shadow. Since I’m such a nice person I already provided the link here. I really hope you decide to take up this offer because it is a really great experience. This is best for people that are interested in a job but don’t know if they will like it because this will give you the chance to try it out and if you like it and if not then you can find a better one that you like better.

I know a lot of you people think it's a waste of time, or it's not worth it, or you say you’ll do it later and you don’t but I really highly encourage you all to at least give it a shot. If you don’t like it, that's ok because you at least gave it a try. I think everyone should at least give it a try so please think about it and think hard because this is a one time thing. If you don’t do it now then you might regret not doing it in the future. All I ask is to give it a try.
